"HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles" (hondasfordsvolvo)

Once again the Honda CRV has gotten weirder and uglier, and bigger...
...again.
Just look at the tumor on its back, I mean “taillight”
The front end kind looks okay, it looks like they are going the way if the facelifted Escape, more macho, but still soft. I almost want to like it for the front end, but the back makes no sense.Once again the tailights, and bottom of the rear window are too high up. The tailight protrude out of the body, a trend that I noticed with the current Highlander, but I don’t really know where it started, I just know I want it to die.
Also the original CRV’s awesome vertical tailights are almost entirely gone.
These three spoke wheels are pretty neat, and I love the green in the doctored up press photo. But looking good in one press photo and looking good in real life are too different things.
So basically the CRV continues it downward spiral from ruggedish little truckster into “best selling crossover” boringness. C’set la vie.
Here’s some CRVs that don’t suck.

Honda and Toyotas designers need to be brought into a dark room and shot.

It looks like a Pilot fucked an HRV and this is the result. And like many cases of sibling incest, it suffers from many . . . issues.

There are so many odd lines and creases that just don’t need to be there, the whole rear end is a jumbled mess of ideas that don’t work.

The lines are cluttered and it’s generally far too busy.

I agree. The HRV, Is okay, and I guess the RAV4 isn’t all bad. But everything else is a mess.
Really I think they need to cool of the Caffeen intake in the design room, clean and simple is out of style so if a design is boring they just add in a few more zig zags because that’ll make it better.

2nd gens had those too. I came close to buying a green 2nd gen once, the parking brake lever was pretty cool to, let’s not forget that they didn’t have center consoles either, more space for stuff! But seriously this parking brake lever is awesome. It’s a reminder of a time when Honda was known for creative packaging solutions.

Indeed just look at the rear 3/4 picture of the silver first gen, it’s clean, simple, timeless. It might now be beautiful but I can’t image some one calling it ugly.

They ruined the new Pilot too, now it looks like a bloated tall minivan. Really all of Honda needs a new design language.

I think the Pilot front looks good on the Ridgeline

It’s pretty mundane looking compared to a Juke.

Don’t even get me started on that dissaster.
“Hey let’s make a small SUV, hatchback thing, and then not give it any cargo space at all like less than a tiny sedan.

Yeah I do like the Ridgline, my issue is they got rid of the boxy shape like my 2014 has. It’s too soft looking.

I’ll agree with that, the back end is almost an identical Copy of the Chevy Traverse. Especially the roof line and rear windows.
